Kerry presents interactive workshops for book shops, libraries, schools, child care centres, book fairs and literature festivals.
As a primary school teacher, Kerry is able to adapt her workshops to classes’ individual needs and requests. She is happy to link either her own written works or other themes to classroom programmes and objectives.
Alternatively, Kerry is available to present talks to a variety of audiences about her experience as a Children’s Picture Book Author. This may be done as a large group presentation or through smaller ‘hands on’ workshops that encourage interest and participation into the world of literature. This includes presentations to emerging writers.
Kerry also has experience presenting to school parents on the importance of reading and assisting them in identifying suitable reading strategies for their own children.
Whilst Kerry's works are written specifically for the early primary years and her workshops for these year levels are based around these, Kerry also adapts her current published works to older grades by deconstructing her stories in detail and discussing the processes involved.
Sessions can be adapted or created based around a learning concept, set of skills or particular objective. Understanding the need for participation and change of pace, sessions are always engaging and interactive.
